Tijd is als een rad dat draait, zichzelf herhaalt. We hadden er allen beter van verwacht, maar 2021 is vooral een sequel van 2020 geworden. Het was andermaal een jaar met mondmaskers, een jaar met spuitjes, een jaar zonder festivals. We hebben van dat tijdelijke bureau een permanente werkplek gemaakt om te studeren of te telewerken, waar we videomeetings in onesies houden en ongegeneerd dagdrinken. Neen, na 2020 krijgt ook 2021 een slecht rapport en blijven we zitten.

Gelukkig waren er ook donkere punten zo duister dat ze opvielen in deze treurnis. Ja, zelfs in dit klotejaar herinnerden goeie muzikanten zich hoe muziek te maken. De energie die normaal in optredens wordt gestoken, werd nu in albums gebruikt en dat hoorden we een jaar lang.
